headphones in time to describe

It's only sometimes in your life that you get to wake up in the morning and realize what a beautiful gift that it is just to open your eyes once more.
have you ever stopped and thought about all the families that have to deal with a loss today because as sure as there is a Heaven and Hell that's the truth people live and die, it's the natural way to world cleans itself and God takes his...

Random thoughts on bullying
written by: oone

I will admit it: I was bullied.
I was small, quiet, an outsider, and had interests outside the general circle. I liked school. I came from a family that didn’t revolve around what was on television.
And yeah, I probably did my share – I just don’t remember it if it happened. To quote an old Blackadder episode, "The oppressed kick downward."
Angry? Yes,...

Don't EVER.... A note to conservatives
written by: NightowlKY

So, you say you don't like socialism? You don't want the government running anything? Wellll....
Don't EVER say you honor and support our military. The military (even including private, outsourced companies like Blackwater) are all paid and supplied by the Federal government.
Don't EVER call 911 for a medical, fire or police emergency. Emergency services are largely provided for by public...

Sadly, I have a lot of them.
Mazeophobia- the fear of getting lost
Autophobia- the fear of one's self, being egotistical or alone
Triskaphobia- the fear of the number 3

Nycotophobia- the fear of night or darkness
Claustrophobia- the fear of being in taught or closed in spaces
Tonight, on the way back from a friends pool...

Choice and Ethics

"But I had to do it! I didn't have a choice!"
I think most of us have heard that statement or similar ones like it. In fact, I'd be willing to go out on a limb and say that most of us have made that statement or similar ones.(1) It's a common sentiment to express when we are faced with a tough decision, especially one with ethical implications or consequences...

Very full heart
Today is The Babe's birthday. She decided to postpone her party until Nernels and Lolo get here for their visit. So tomorrow we are going to drive up and get them for about a weeks visit. The party won't be until Sunday though so people will be available.
I gave her her big present tonight. She is so excited that she is 5 that she hasn't even thought twice about presents. Months ago when...

Change I believed in

Four entries (one private) in two days? This is unheard of for me!
I'm angry and pissed off and wanting to scream but have no outlet so here I am.
If I hear/see/read one more flaming, uninformed idiot spouting one more egregious lie about what was to have been one MASSIVE step in the right direction for our country regarding healthcare I will freaking lose my head....

They Say It's My Birthday!
written by: aimalyn

So I guess I'd better have a public entry up where people can leave me well wishes, since some of my faves like to post public entries lauding those having birthdays. So thank you, Jules, and thanks to Stan who sent me a card, and thanks to all of you who I don't know sending me love here.
Real entry to follow. I promise....
